What are the Earth's and Moon's interiors like?

Group member______________________________________________  Period_____

Research Work to be illustrated on Earth/Moon Poster:

ü  What are the interior layers and boundaries between layers; draw to scale and label the thickness of each layer (in Km) for the Earth and Moon?

ü  What are the: major component minerals or rock types, state of matter, and temperature of each layer?  Use symbols and a key to illustrate the types of mineral/rock in each layer.

ü  What are the Earth’s renewable and non-renewable energy sources? Make a table or illustrate at least five of these energy sources and indicate whether they are renewable, non-renewable, whether they are clean sources or polluting.

ü  What moves lithospheric plates on the Earth?  Diagram how lithospheric plates move and how each interior layer is involved.  Are there lithospheric plates on the Moon?

ü  EXTRA CREDIT:  What are some of the natural resources on the moon and how might Humans use them?  Answer all of the regular credit EQs completely before attempting extra credit.

Hard deadline due: 1/4 or 5/11

You will need to create a WCP for the web and text based research you did in effort to answer the EQs for your quadrant.  Follow the Oceana Golden Page format.  You received a copy of the Golden Page in Humanities and can find it electronically on the OHS library web page.   Turn in your completed research WCP stapled to the back of the quadrant research or pasted to your research if you submit it electronically.
